Church School at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church
Sundays, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
 
PRESCHOOL
  • Nursery (Room 106) A nursery is available throughout the morning for infants and toddlers.
  • Age 2 (Room 108) – This special class for 2’s, led by Jessica Wick, Amy Bijeau, Elizabeth King, Adeline Vandever, and Lee Ann Graeub will supervise a special hour of play and share stories of Jesus and love.
  • Age 3 (Room 180) will gather with veteran teacher, Sue Martin, plus Elizabeth Sandman, Charlotte Kettler and other parent helpers for their first church school experience.
  • Age 4/Pre-K (Room 160)Kristen Best, Trish Boggs, and Amy and Bob Foulkes and subs Hilary Wharton, Lee Ann McCall and Jenny Mitchell will welcome 4’s this winter to learn special stories of God’s amazing love made known in Jesus Christ.
           
ELEMENTARY
  • Kindergarten (Room 170)Teachers Rebecca Iverson-Hunter, Sally Gaffney, Brad Shingleton and Sherburne Laughlin and sub Kristi Craig are looking forward to sharing stories of God’s love and stories from the Gospel of John with Kindergarten friends this winter.
  • Grade 1 (Room 270) – 1st Graders will learn about God’s unconditional love this winter from teachers Britt Reynolds, Claudia Radifera, Linda Ertz, Mary Cline, and Leslie Crutchfield and helper, Jenny Mitchell.
  • Grade 2 (Room 280) – Teachers Tom Jordan, Christina Hudson, Suzette Bradbury, and sub Mark Meredith will introduce 2nd graders to the stories of God’s love for the world this winter.
  • Grade 3 (Room 360) – Third graders will study God’s love as seen in the story of Jesus’ birth and life with teachers Paula Fudge, Leah Roberts, Emily Mazella, and Ann Weymouth this fall.
  • Grade 4 (Room 370) – Teachers Chris Hersman, Ken Cantwell, and Jodi McGill invite 4th Graders to join them for an exciting year-long survey of the Old Testament, The Story of God’s Faithfulness.
 
YOUTH
  • Grade 5-6 (Room 380) –  Fred Atwood, Marian Lally, and Susan and Arnie Brooksinvite 5th and 6th Graders to meet people of faith and Christians through the centuries who seek to be faithful to God’s call in an exciting year-long survey of Church History called So Great a Cloud of Witnesses
    Grade 7 (Room 350-A)7th Graders and their teachers Susan Dentzer, Chip Jennings, Paul Anderson, and Barbara Jones are taking a year-long look at the major stories of the Bible and how the books flow from one to the other in I Know My Bible.
    Grade 8 (Room 306) – This year, teachers Carter Blakey, Steve Seawright, Catherine DePeuter, and Margaret Bacon and sub Kristen Riley will explore the New Testament this year in With All Boldness and Freedom.
  • Grades 9-12 (Room 260/Firesides) – Senior Highs will spend an exciting year exploring faith and life with teachers Paula Jennings, John Yahner, and Peter Willsey.
 
ADULTS
  • Faith Trek (Room 104) -- a self-directed adult study group which mixes fellowship and study. Contact Tom Kirby for details
  • In-Depth Bible Study (Room 350B) -- a thorough, historical study of biblical texts led by Peter Combes. This year the class will study the Acts of the Apostles.   • Thoughtful Christians (Room 250/Geneva Hall) -- Each Sunday participants take a look at Christian faith and life issues.
