 EARTH STEWARDS Minimize

PURPOSE: CCPC takes seriously the mandate from our General Assembly to act immediately and boldly to reduce the threats from climate change. As Christians we have been charged to care for creation, and to act on the biblical promise to restore right relationships between God, human beings and the rest of creation. In June 2006 the national church called on all Presbyterians to lead the way in reducing our energy usage and to make a bold witness by seeking to lead carbon neutral lives. A carbon-neutral life is one in which we reduce energy consumption that releases carbon dioxide and other green house gases as far as possible and buy carbon offsets to make up for those that we cannot eliminate.

Become an Earth Steward - we exist mainly as a group of e-mail recipients, who meet infrequently. If you would like to be on the mailing list, send an e-mail to the Chair and we will add you to the list. In order to make the list as user friendly as possible those who write e-mail messages should put “EARTH STEWARDS” in the message line, followed by the issue they are dealing with. Then if this is not of interest you can delete. We will use it to keep you informed about political issues in the news, actions you can take around your home, ways to green our church and so forth.
