Community-Based Shelter:

For one week each spring CCPC members provide food and other services to homeless people through this project of Community Ministries. (Volunteers needed to help serve food and assist in other ways during that week)
CCPC provides the dinner meal on the fourth Monday of each month. The program is located in downtown Washington DC and provides a hot nutritious dinner and social services to 60-90 homeless women and their children five nights a week.
Earth Stewards:

Formerly the “Stream Stewards”, this group participates in annual clean-up campaigns for the Anacostia River and tree plantings (Volunteers needed for both activities in spring)
ESL Program:

Each Sunday afternoon for two hours CCPC members and others volunteer as teachers of English as a Second Language for recent immigrants (The program is open for more students)

In collaboration with Community Ministries of Montgomery County, a team of CCPC volunteers mentor and assist a family as they seek new opportunities for better jobs, incomes, housing and services. (Volunteers needed to work with team in assisting a family)
Gifts of Hope Market:

CCPC's Christmas market enables CCPC members to buy alternative gifts--donations to charitable organizations--in place of material things. The contributions fund humanitarian relief worldwide, as well as Christmas groceries for needy families in the D.C. area. (Needs volunteers for planning and help selling gifts Sunday mornings during December.)
Jubilee Jobs:
Jubilee Jobs helps underserved people in the Washington area to secure and hold jobs in the marketplace by providing them with excellent counseling, referral and support services (Volunteers with backgrounds in employment-related services needed)
Miriam’s Kitchen:

This organization provides substantial breakfasts to homeless and other low-income people, with volunteer help from CCPC on first Tuesday of each month (Volunteers needed to help with preparation of breakfast)
Shikokho:

CCPC supports a health clinic, educational and women’s programs in this village in Kenya. (Volunteers who can provide direct medical, educational or other services are wanted for likely Church mission trip to Shikokho in 2004)
Transition Assistance Program:

Based at CCPC, TAP staff provide advice and referral services and TAP volunteers provide other assistance to needy people, especially helping get identification papers and emergency help. (Volunteers wanted to help with food pantry, clothing, and interviewing)
