Why should I give?

At the heart of giving is the love of God. God's love for us is abundant, constant, and eternal. God's generosity calls us to joyful, generous giving.

So, give as an expression of your gratitude to God. Give to support the mission and ministry of the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church and all the ways in which CCPC shares the love of God helping people live more whole and abundant lives.

How is my money used?

CCPC's budget is determine each year by the session (our governing board). For detailed information about the budget, view the annual report for 2011.

How much should I give?

How much to give is an individual decision. We encourage you to make a pledge of how much you will give to the church for the coming year. If you need to, you can always change your pledge.

Give in proportion to your income. Jesus encouraged those with greater income to give in a greater amount. Calculate what three percent or five percent of your income would be, and give that. Then try to increase your giving each year.

For 2012 our average pledge was $3,281.11.

Please prayerfully consider...

  • Does your pledge reflect your spiritual growth anc commitment to CCPC?
  • Is your pledge a meaningful percent of your income?
  • Have you prayed over your pledge?
  • When was the last time you increased your pledge?
  • Can you increase your pledge this year?

Give regularly. Pledging requires disciplined giving, and pledging allows church leaders to plan for the coming year.

 

How can I give?

During worship: You can always place money in the offering plates during Sunday worship. You will receive a quarlerly statement from us if you include your name and address.

By mail: Checks can be mailed to the church at 1 Chevy Chase Circle NW, Washington DC 20015.

Automated Bill Payments: You can use online banking to make automated scheduled or one time payments to fulfill your pledge. This opion may be especially attractive to people who already use online banking to pay other bills. Simply send your electronic checks to Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, 1 Chevy Chase Circle NW, Washington DC 20015. Designate "pledge payment" in the memo or account field when you are setting up the automated payment. Contact the  with any questions.

Online Giving

We're now offering online giving through Vanco. It's an easy, secure way to make a one time contribution or set up a recurring payment to pay your regular pledge. There is a 3% fee for each transaction. If you wish, you can choose to pay the 3% fee along with your contribution (3 cents for every dollar). The church also pays a monthly fee to maintain our account.
