Sundays at CCPC

During the summer months, between May and September, one worship service is held at 10:00 a.m.
The first Sunday of each month we have ACT Sundays (All Church Together).

At the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, we welcome infants and toddlers and their parents to the Nursery every Sunday morning. The Nursery is open prior to and immediately following Sunday services in rooms 106 and 108 on the first floor, alley side of the center building.

The Nursery provides a safe and warm environment for our youngest children so that parents are free to attend services and adult education programs in the church. The Nursery is filled with age-appropriate toys. The Nursery is staffed by paid childcare employees, all of whom have had significant childcare experience and have completed the child protection training, CPR and first aid certifications that are mandatory for our caregivers. In addition, parent volunteers assist in the Nursery when additional help is needed.

During the program year (September through May), we offer a full range of Church School classes to teach our children from preschool through young adult ages important stories of the Bible, lessons of faith, and our life together using the PCUSA curriculum “Feasting on the Word” and “Growing in Grace and Gratitude.” Each Sunday, children and youth are encouraged to attend the 9:15 a.m. worship service with their families and then go to their classes after the Time with Children in the service.

Several times during the program year and during the summer, third graders and up worship with our church family to celebrate communion and to experience worship with their church family. Parents are asked to complete a new Sunday School Registration Form each year either in person or online so that we have updated information on all our children. Parents pick up their children in their classrooms at 10:15 a.m. or alert their child’s teacher in writing on the registration form if they are to meet their family in Chadsey Hall for brunch.

Music has always provided the people of God a natural and satisfying way to express their praises. The Ministry of Music assists every member of the congregational family in presenting an offering of praise. At CCPC, we are blessed to have several choirs/musical groups that sing during our services. Whether it is the Chancel Choir, The First Service Singer, The Revelations Guitar Group or one of the children’s choirs, our worship experience is definitely enhanced by their talents.

Each week our Pastors provide timely messages that help you in your journey of faith. Check out our sermons section to get a sample of what to expect from our services.

On Sundays after each service, light refreshments are served in Chadsey Hall. Sharing food together is a wonderful way to connect socially, culturally and spiritually!
