Children
Can faith be made real to a child? Can a four-year-old minister to others? Can a third grader understand scripture? At the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, the answer is a resounding yes! Here our ministry to our children and their families focuses on creating a place of belonging, a place where children are called by name, and a place where discipleship and a love of God and neighbor are nurtured. As church and family, we take seriously the baptismal covenant, which partners parents and congregation to help each child understand God’s purpose for his or her life.
We provide a number of programs for children, including our Sunday School lessons. Children are encouraged to celebrate communion and experience worship with their church family. Special events throughout the year (Deck the Halls, the Easter Festival, and other inter-generational events) give younger children and families a chance to experience their faith in fun, spirit-filled ways, and contribute to our life together as a congregation.

For children grade 6 and under and their families:
Join us on the CCPC Playground for an hour of fun together (weather permitting!) on April 12th at 10am. Pastor Adele will bring coffee and donuts for the adults.
* If it's raining, we'll play in Westminster Hall, adjacent to the playground. Use the Preschool entrance.

Palm Sunday/Easter Festival

Chadsey Hall
Join us for the 18th Annual Palm Sunday/ Easter Festival on Sunday, April 13th, from 10:15am- 11:30am in Chadsey Hall to explore the symbols and traditions of our most sacred season of the church year. Starting after Time with Children and extending after the services, for congregational participation, we will make crafts, hunt for eggs, decorate Easter cards for our homebound members, and enjoy Mrs. Martin’s famous cookies.
CCPC Spring Musical

During Worship
We're excited to announce our 2025 Spring Worship Musical: Oh, Jonah!,” a 25-minute worship musical written by Allen Pote and Carole McCann. This retelling of the biblical book of Jonah features original folk, jazz, and pop tunes that are perfect for young ones K-12 to sing and dance to as they learn the important message of Jonah’s story: responsibility!
The performance of “Oh, Jonah!,” will be during the worship service on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11th.
