  • Kayaking

    Saturday, August 9th at 7AM

    Join Erik Woodworth for a day trip to West Virginia to paddle the serene Trough canyon of the South Branch of the Potomac, known for its beautiful scenery and bald eagle sightings.  We'll take our church van and leave early morning from the CCPC parking lot (6-7 AM), so we can put in around 9-10 AM. We'll stop for a packed lunch along the river and aim to get out of the water by 2-3 PM. We can either come straight home or stop for a nice dinner to end our day.

    For a canoe that could hold two people comfortably, and a third person not so comfortably (or a younger child), the cost is $110 per canoe. For individual kayaks, it’s $60/person. "That section of river is very easy to paddle and I’d say appropriate for all ages." ~ Erik
